Akash Air Got Air Operator Certificate From DCGA To Take Off

- Billionaire investor Rakesh Juhunjhunwala-owned Akasa Air is cleared for take-off.
- The no-frills airline obtained its air operator certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
- The airline will begin its operations at the end of July.
- The grant of the AOC is the last step of a comprehensive process laid down by the DGCA.
- On June 21, the airline inducted its 1st Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
- It plans to begin its service, connecting metro cities with tier II and III cities, after adding its 2nd aircraft.
- The airline hopes to have eighteen aircraft by the end of the financial year 2023.
