Center launched Nadabet Seema Darshan Project

Highlights:

  • Recently, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Nadabet Seema Darshan Project along the India-Pakistan border in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat.
  • The tourism project in Gujarat will help in generating employment and will also stop the migration of people residing in the border villages.
  • The government of India has undertaken several initiatives to develop the country’s border infrastructure with the objective of enhancing border security and the newly launched Seemadarshan project is a part of it.
  • The cost of this project will be Rs 125 crore.
Objectives: 
  • This border tourism project will help in increasing the people’s respect towards the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) and will also help in boosting tourism in this area. 
  • With an increase in tourism, employment will also be generated.
  • This project has the aim of offering the citizens of the nation an opportunity to see the lifestyle of the BSF personnel who are deployed in this region. 
  • At the site, there will be several tourist attractions like a lounge, arrival plazas, a 500 people seating capacity auditorium, parking facilities, shops, a changing room, restaurants, a museum, a ‘Sarhad Gatha’ exhibition centre, decorative lighting, solar rooftop panels, and solar tree.
  • ‘Ajay Prahari’, a monument, has been erected on this site in remembrance of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. 
  • The tourists who will be visiting this site will also be able to see various weapons like surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, artillery guns, T-55 tanks, wing drop tanks, torpedoes, MiG-27 aircraft, etc. 
  • Also, a ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony, like the one that is held in the Wagah-Attari border in Punjab has also been planned for this project.
